CURV™ Chair | Environmentally ResponsibleFalcon takes great care to operate in an environmentally responsible way. Our manufacturing facilities are focused on reducing waste, minimizing our carbon footprint, and using recycled and recyclable materials. In 2009, our European production facility earned ISO 14001 certification, which requires some of the most rigorous environmental management standards in the world. This facility is one of the few furniture factories which uses renewable energy from wind turbines. Recycling is an essential part of our business culture. Over the past 30 years our state-of-the-art metal casting foundry has removed engine components from more than 50 million automobiles and recycled them to make table bases. We use FSC hardwoods to produce many of our standard products. Upon customer request we can supply bio foam and recycled materials, such as upholstery fabrics or linoleum, to gain LEED points for any project. We produce high quality, comfortable, and trouble-free products with long lifecycles that avoid harmful 'throwaway,' environmental impact and provide exceptional value to the end user. |
New Falcon™ Catalog | Falcon™ Gets a Fresh LookFalcon™ is pleased to launch our new website. This comprehensive website offers an easy way to access information about products, literature, news, and events. To compliment the site, the company is also introducing the new catalog system. Both of these tools are highlighted by the new Falcon Logo. “We made a strategic decision to develop both of these important tools at the same time. We believe that, while the web is critical to our clients’ day-to-day activity, they still require and appreciate printed materials as well. Working on the projects in tandem allowed us to have a cohesive presentation and logical approach to how our products are highlighted," comments Steve Cohen, VP of Sales and Marketing.
The catalog consists of two types of literature: product guides and application brochures. Product guides show Falcon’s entire offering of seating and tables in a streamlined format, utilizing thumbnail images to carry the message. More detailed information is supported on the web. Application brochures are designed to communicate the story of how product is used in the real world, allowing the client to visualize different types of applications featuring Falcon furniture. Falcon is very sensitive about the utilization of paper, as well as the amount of space the Falcon binder consumes. Every effort has been made to print on FSC-Certified Paper and reduce the size and quantities of printed material. Please contact your sales representative or call Customer Service at 423-586-7000 for more information. |

![]() | CFGroup Enters New Marketing & Distribution Agreement with E&I Cooperative Purchasing CFGroup, parent company of Falcon, Howe, Thonet, and Shelby Williams, is pleased to announce a distribution and marketing agreement with Education & Institution Cooperative Purchasing (E&I).While the Falcon, Howe, and Thonet brands have been leaders in the higher education market for many years this relationship will greatly strengthen our distribution and marketing presence there. The partnership with E&I is an important extension to CFGroup’s marketing strategy and allows our sales team to access member institutions with the most competitive prices possible. CFGroup will continue to hold numerous state and local contracts but it is often easier for members to purchase from E&I and the cooperative structure affords membership the additional advantage of sharing in the group’s success. “We are very excited about this agreement. Few companies can demonstrate our company’s proven expertise in such critical areas as Dining and Learning in the member institutions. E&I’s marketing prowess now provides members easy access to our exciting product portfolio and custom capability which together create truly innovative and dynamic use of space.” commented Steve Cohen, VP of Sales and Marketing. While the new agreement is between CFGroup and E&I, the structure of the program encourages CFG’s sales organization to team with the local contract dealer network and market our collective product and service expertise with a high degree of efficiency. CFGroup is a closely held global organization with facilities in the US, Mexico, Europe and China. Being Good Stewards Being good stewards of the environment and local economies while remaining budget conscious can be a challenge for large institutions. The popularity of "green" construction has surged throughout the past decade, growing exponentially since the the U.S. Green Building Council first developed its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) certification system in 1998. In addition, the impetus to buy products and supplies from American manufacturers can be strong for designers, architects, builders and property managers of large institutional projects. Buying products made in the United States or with sustainable products can often result in a higher price tag. But that's not the case with Falcon; the balancing act between quality and budget is simplified. Falcon operates in an environmentally responsible way, using lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council on all of our wood products. We also supply the highest quality recycled and environmentally friendly products, which add points to a project’s LEED® certification hopes. As far as our metal furnishings, we use recycled aluminum and steel for many of our products. Falcon produces high quality products that are built to last, avoiding environmental impacts of ‘throwaway products,’ which end up filling landfills. Moreover, our manufacturing plants are focused on reducing waste, minimizing our carbon footprint and using recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible. In addition to being good stewards of the environment, businesses and organizations are intensely focused on appropriate fiscal management. Colleges, corporations and government entities recognize the leadership mandate to purchase products that are good financial investments. This is especially true for institutions that operate on public funds. Properly spending taxpayer dollars is among the top concerns of most university administrators. That means purchasing products that are well-built and durable.

![]() | When Troy University planned its first new dining facility in over 40 years, they came to Falcon for their furniture needs. “Our goal was to build a facility that would rival a five star restaurant in construction and design, as well as the foodservice operation,” said Dr. Jim Bookout, Sr. Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business Affairs, who chaired the Project Design Committee. "Our goal was to design and build a dining facility that addresses contemporary diversity for a homogenous student population. The New Trojan Dining facility accomplished that because it will help shape our campus climate and the climate in turn will shape the sociocultural environment of the campus. “ Dr. Bookout advised, that the committee was focused on a premium high-end design and wanted furniture that would support this design concept, while meeting budget requirements and providing good quality products, built to last for years of service in this environment. He stated, “Falcon met the requirements. We felt Falcon’s products would enhance the facility and compliment the design, as well as provide a durable product. Falcon met our expectations.” The 80,000 sq. ft. Trojan Dining facility seats over 1,000 students and includes five self-serve food service stations, as well as two retail restaurants. It features a combination of dining tables and chairs for a relaxed meal or meeting and study space, stand up tables and barstools sprinkled throughout for easy collaboration, and multiple areas incorporating custom booths and wallbenches providing cozy nooks for more private eating or study space. The design incorporates chairs and barstools which feature the durability of a metal frame and the warmth of wood seats and backs. The contemporary tables also feature a wood and cast iron combination for warmth and durability. The Exclusive Dining room, fashioned after a five star restaurant, features unique diamond box veneer table tops, with combination wood and cast iron bases, contemporary wood seating and custom booths, creating a high-end restaurant environment. The Trojan Dining facility is not just for students and faculty. It is open to the public, keeping the University at the center of the Community. Click here to see more images. |
